surfing away checking out my new camera (yah, soon will be mine as long as i get to SIM LIM in time)...looking at my old camera...with love...thinking what is going to happen to it. tried some funny shots with it...experimenting what is ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture...sibei confusing...thats why i need MY new camera! Cos it tells u how to match ISO /Speed /Aperture...I want to take beautiful pictures...learning about framing...quite interesting...
today was a real bad day at work. i do not understand why people can be so disappointing. can life be so jading for some? why can some people just bop around like a coconut husk, slow disintegrating as the float. hiaz. why do people take comments so hard? there is really more to life...we need to learn to chillax. work is work. play is play. Dun mix it up. Its tough but that is what gets u to the top. hang on in there.
some crappy taiwanese boy band idol tv show on. ITS DAMN CRAP....i go sleep.

Astrid and A.....
i woke up this morning in a fright....well sort of a fright/anger
it started with me in the labour ward...the drs and nurses were asking me to push and push....next moment....i was at home....felt like i just had the longest sleep in my entire life.....
suddenly all aunties and cousins were surrounding me...and the 2 additions in my life started becoming clear to me....i had delivered 2 babies! (not twins...you know how funny dreams can be) One was a tiny baby still being burped by my cousin...name started with A....after that i scolded my cousin cos she was burping the baby A the wrong way.....
then i walked into the other room, the cutest toddler (yes...like 8 months) started smiling at me...omg my heart melted with all the confusion that was going around me...for your info that was my son (apparently) and his name was Astrid....
so we started playing together while my hubby watched and smiled..very blissful.. is God trying to tell me something? But i have so much fears.....
then came feeding time...my children were being formula fed! how can that be? ...always always wanted them to be breast fed.....so i started getting angry at my MIL, my Mom for feeding them formula milk....siow right? hahaha.....anyway after that i woke up....its been a while since i remembered so vividly my dreams......

It is March - my ramblings
Yesterday I spent 4 hours with Ah Bao scouring Orchard Road from Far East to CK Tang to Isetan to Wisma to Taka to Paragon and back to Wisma for the perfect (read: good and cheap and match all my 3 potential change of clothes) wedding shoes. Found nothing...either too low, too expensive, too tacky, too boring, too inflexible....think i am going to trawl websites to find the perfect pair..
Then i spent another 2 hours shopping at 2CM, toxique, Wynn, Secret Garden, Belle De Lis...but also bought nothing...but it was really fun...that i did not wish to go back for dinner. Good that CSB has the toxique vip card! 15% discount..so happy....why do women get the kick on saving a little? hahaha...can never get it.
Oh well, I cannot believe it is March. 2 months later, I will be Mrs Lim..have not really sunk in...i hope things don't change much and expectations are kept in check. Last night i dream that 2009 was over...it was a scary thought but reflects how fast time has passed.

Highlights of Korea - Part 1
I live on Walkerhill. At the W Seoul. It was a fantastic hotel.
Everyday I take the shuttle bus and then hop onto the subway for a good 30 mins to & fro. Public transport has never been so entertaining...here is a short summary of what the Koreans love
The WOMEN
1. MC(hammer)M bags - everywhere, in all shapes (so similar to LV) and all leathers..

2. Bangs! and a mushroom pot of head

The MEN
1. Androganistic - I swear this coat is like from Zara Women!
Check out the Handbag!
Permed Hair!

In GENERAL
1. I cannot live without my mobile phone...even as I sleep on the train or even if i have a bag, it must be in my sight! Check out the handphone accessory on the guy's mobile!

If you cannot tell, its a furry pompom + a pig...
This boy / girl (cannot tell) had 2 mobiles! on this hand....then he borrowed the passenger's phone (his battery died) to make a call! Talk about obsession for connectivity!
2. Geek Fashion - Specs like this is all the rage!!!
3. Looking good! - even hand dryer has a mirror on it!

The De-Virginisation Process
I have been contemplating to do a perm since 2006 in BKK when all my LZBs did their perm in Siam Square. I guess I am a creature of habit and thus since given myself excuses that I can always set my hair when I want a permed look. Oh well, with my recent hoards of taiwanese / HK fashion mags, it has renewed my fascination of curly locks.
So with gusto, i surfed the net for reviews, pictures of people who have stepped out of the salon. I settled for 2 options. My usual stylist May who so sadly has left ActPoint but I could not get a slot today evening. And I needed instant gratification. So I searched further. I found a picture without a face. This is the pic. Showed it to my colleagues and we had a good laugh. Apparently this girl's pic was taken the next day she awoke. I was quite taken in by this and checked where she did her hair.
It was taken at Far East at a Salon called Francis and Jean. Stylist was Sean Lew. So I quickly called and made an appt. Viola! Ok for me to come at 630 this evening...so happy...then armed with my 4 magazines, i made my way there with anticipation. So i started my virgin perm....see below for pics!
The first thing Sean said was (in chinese) "I know what you want. Big, loose, natural curls because 9 out of 10 girls want this" Hahaha...my session started out quite "38" already. Then when i showed him pictures of my expectation, he told me it was not possible. It needs time to soften and that the effect on magazines are just stylings. OK. Brownie points for being so honest. Then he showed me the Shiseido cream he was using. Showed me the brand so that i think he is not using some kuching kurup brand. (Please lor, budget chain hotels in Japan also use Shiseido brand toiletries....how i know the premium-cy of his products). So we started out first with some Shiseido cream to "soften" my hair. This is the same cream used for rebonding...After the cream, we start with some Octopus machine...

After my curlers were taken out of the octopus machine. My hair SHRUNK
This is the stylist. 23 years old Sean Lew from Lian Bang. Work in this salon for 8 mths. Total working experience 5 - 6 years starting in KL Mines Resort. The look below was after the squeezed some white liquid to my hair...dragged down a little. Can see the shape a little more obvious.
The back view of my head
Showing me what it looks like behind
Viola...before i left the Salon. No more virgin liao....and very different from the picture of the faceless girl...but overall still happy.
