The De-Virginisation Process

I have been contemplating to do a perm since 2006 in BKK when all my LZBs did their perm in Siam Square. I guess I am a creature of habit and thus since given myself excuses that I can always set my hair when I want a permed look. Oh well, with my recent hoards of taiwanese / HK fashion mags, it has renewed my fascination of curly locks.

So with gusto, i surfed the net for reviews, pictures of people who have stepped out of the salon. I settled for 2 options. My usual stylist May who so sadly has left ActPoint but I could not get a slot today evening. And I needed instant gratification. So I searched further. I found a picture without a face. This is the pic. Showed it to my colleagues and we had a good laugh. Apparently this girl's pic was taken the next day she awoke. I was quite taken in by this and checked where she did her hair.

It was taken at Far East at a Salon called Francis and Jean. Stylist was Sean Lew. So I quickly called and made an appt. Viola! Ok for me to come at 630 this evening...so happy...then armed with my 4 magazines, i made my way there with anticipation. So i started my virgin perm....see below for pics!

The first thing Sean said was (in chinese) "I know what you want. Big, loose, natural curls because 9 out of 10 girls want this" Hahaha...my session started out quite "38" already. Then when i showed him pictures of my expectation, he told me it was not possible. It needs time to soften and that the effect on magazines are just stylings. OK. Brownie points for being so honest. Then he showed me the Shiseido cream he was using. Showed me the brand so that i think he is not using some kuching kurup brand. (Please lor, budget chain hotels in Japan also use Shiseido brand toiletries....how i know the premium-cy of his products). So we started out first with some Shiseido cream to "soften" my hair. This is the same cream used for rebonding...After the cream, we start with some Octopus machine...

After my curlers were taken out of the octopus machine. My hair SHRUNK

This is the stylist. 23 years old Sean Lew from Lian Bang. Work in this salon for 8 mths. Total working experience 5 - 6 years starting in KL Mines Resort. The look below was after the squeezed some white liquid to my hair...dragged down a little. Can see the shape a little more obvious.

Showing me what it looks like behind
Viola...before i left the Salon. No more virgin liao....and very different from the picture of the faceless girl...but overall still happy.

6 mths and counting...

guess i am somewhat troubled and i went to revisit my blogging on the angel card reader. on hindsight, it was quite true. six months have passed since. my career is rocketing away...i am indeed stressed out on certain occasions and life has its own way of trying the squeeze the living daylights out of u....

many events have happened since my last light hearted entry on battlemania...today's entry seems to be kinda sombre, so my initial apologies to those who are reading...you can stop here if you want.

It is another one of those saturdays that i am totally drained out, feeling like i am such a loser and just tired. Have been waiting for work to actually empty out from my brain but its like still 20% lingering in there....well, attributed from 18 hour work days for 14 days straight....

today i read an article in Her World about how couples are now staying together but going thru what they call an "invisible divorce". the article is called "stuck in a loveless limbo". I dunno about loveless to be honest. but limbo is definitely something that i can identify with. I wish i tore out that article, framed it up and gave it as a present to you know who. i am not asking to be 1st priority but at least recognise that a relationship is not just about getting comfortable and thats it. i am really starting to feel this invisible force telling me to just walk away from it all. as much as i want to do something, it takes 2 hands to clap. however, it seems that i am as good as handicap.

walking away will not solve anything....maybe the only realisation it will cause is "if only"........how many "if onlys" do we want to encounter in our lives? today i feel like i have lost the battle. like scarlett says in the movie gone with the wind...."tomorrow is another day". i have to pull myself together.

cheer up twinkie...life has much more for u. dun be stumbled by mini set backs.

CSB and BOBO Battlemania

History has it that Princess Bobo was the Queen of Sicssors Paper Stone and Dandy CSB has never won a battle. Tonight at the booth Shiseido has erected for the grand challenge, we witness the battle of September. The Prize: Christian Dior Addict Ultra Shine Lip Gloss (courtesy of Twink) In the last battle of SPS, Dandy CSB lost the MAC Eyeshadow Palette (again courtesy of Twink) but she took home with her a consolation prize of a MAC blush. (once again courtesy of Twink). Let the battle begin!

Here Princess Bobo seems determined to guard her precious legendary SPS title. While Dandy CSB begins to show that little bicep of hers deciding whether to start or throw a strong punch out to Princess Bobo...in the middle of the action below. Princess Bobo has one point to her credit and again we see CSB eagerly starting another round to claim the grand prize.....

In the final moments, Dandy CSB turns to look at the scoreboard and Princess Bobo has the winner's look! Bobo has done it Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better luck next round CSB! Jester Bwen to start on your next SPS practice!

my date on sunday

It was an action filled sunday with anticipation to the gold medal table tennis game between Singapore and China. At 1030am, we went to eat Lor Mee at Old Airport Road with the folks, followed by a massage at Sin Ming since we were both feeling sleepy and did not want to go all the way back home.

Went to see my "dream" car...sigh....so expensive but i still like....although second hand...but still not very affordable. Then we went library...trying to while time away....cos only can collect my phone around evening time...
I was quite excited as I was going to get my new phone today!

Feeling hungry at 415pm, we had our heavy dinner at Redhill market. Shared a plate of siew lak, mee+beehoon goreng, rice, had a dessert each....and we ta bao 20 chicken wings to eat for the big match tonight.

Testing my phone 3.2 megapixel camera! Singapore supporters in China

Trying to catch their faces...but too late! They move too fast

Singapore finally won a silver medal!!! and the happy chicken wing filled Singapore supporters!
