CSB and BOBO Battlemania

History has it that Princess Bobo was the Queen of Sicssors Paper Stone and Dandy CSB has never won a battle. Tonight at the booth Shiseido has erected for the grand challenge, we witness the battle of September. The Prize: Christian Dior Addict Ultra Shine Lip Gloss (courtesy of Twink) In the last battle of SPS, Dandy CSB lost the MAC Eyeshadow Palette (again courtesy of Twink) but she took home with her a consolation prize of a MAC blush. (once again courtesy of Twink). Let the battle begin!

Here Princess Bobo seems determined to guard her precious legendary SPS title. While Dandy CSB begins to show that little bicep of hers deciding whether to start or throw a strong punch out to Princess Bobo...in the middle of the action below. Princess Bobo has one point to her credit and again we see CSB eagerly starting another round to claim the grand prize.....

In the final moments, Dandy CSB turns to look at the scoreboard and Princess Bobo has the winner's look! Bobo has done it Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better luck next round CSB! Jester Bwen to start on your next SPS practice!

my date on sunday

It was an action filled sunday with anticipation to the gold medal table tennis game between Singapore and China. At 1030am, we went to eat Lor Mee at Old Airport Road with the folks, followed by a massage at Sin Ming since we were both feeling sleepy and did not want to go all the way back home.

Went to see my "dream" car...sigh....so expensive but i still like....although second hand...but still not very affordable. Then we went library...trying to while time away....cos only can collect my phone around evening time...
I was quite excited as I was going to get my new phone today!

Feeling hungry at 415pm, we had our heavy dinner at Redhill market. Shared a plate of siew lak, mee+beehoon goreng, rice, had a dessert each....and we ta bao 20 chicken wings to eat for the big match tonight.

Testing my phone 3.2 megapixel camera! Singapore supporters in China

Trying to catch their faces...but too late! They move too fast

Singapore finally won a silver medal!!! and the happy chicken wing filled Singapore supporters!

Chio-bu(s) in Ghim Moh

On a bright & (very) sunny morning, at 745am, I picked Nono up from club tanglin...and made our way to club depot to pick Bobo...when we reached HortPark, it was already quite crowded. We had to park quite a distance from the lobby area (below).

Nono was supposed to jog 10km that morning but due to her shyness, as no one was seen jogging, she decided to just trek the route with us. Oh well, hortpark is nice but SI BEI crowded! When we finished our trek, we saw busloads of people...like excursion...owing to it being national day, people were all dressed in red & white. Quite a spectacle i must say.

It was a tiring trek...just goes to show how unfit I am...oh well, after the 1 hour 15min trek up and down....tummies were rumbling......today was the day we would finally make our way to Ghim Moh market after eons of talking about it.

We went to 3 carparks surrounding the market before we finally found a spot. It sure was crowded on Nday....how come people just dun want to sleep in late?

Nono's phone rang and guess who? (no prizes) Mumster was also in Ghim Moh! A true fan + shareholder. We made reservations for 3 seats and when we reached, it was the first time i saw mumster. She sure looks harmless.

Menu for Breakfast:

Bobo: Mee Pok Ta, Soya bean, Teh Oh Kosong
Nono: Mee Soup, Soya bean, Teh Oh Kosong
Ah Twink: Chwee Kueh x 4 pieces,
Soya bean, Teh Oh Kosong
Sharing: 1 super black plate of fried carrot cake $4! (heaven!) - since when did carrot cake cost so much?

Satisfying! Check out the picture with our liang tehs, bak zhangs, laundry....CHIO right?

Long Island Tea

In the middle of an sms, the word numbskull popped into my mind. I would think that numbskull is usually meant to describe someone who JUST DOESN'T GET IT....well according to Collins Dictionary, it is an adjective used to describe a STUPID person or a BLOCKHEAD...

Well, I was quite right.....anyway, i really dun understand why sometimes we have to meet blockheads in our lives...what did i do to deserve this?

Am I guilty of suddenly feeling upset? Or guilty of not constantly reminding that i am feeling upset? Is it wrong to just try and keep my cool and try to rationalise things? I cannot pin point my feelings right now...its like long island tea.....

1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz light rum
1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz tequila
juice of 1/2 lemons
1 splash Coca-Cola®

Potent yet unassuming.....all mixed up. Nice on the outside, deadly on the inside...mix of everything...arrgghhhh.....

Taking a break from work

Need a break from all this non stop powerpoints, excel sheets, videos...thinking back i ask myself why i chose to leave the easy life...or comparatively easy. 4 emails a day, 12 hour working week, adhoc simple projects...i came to the conclusion that my appetite for life is relatively quite big.

Working on a Saturday doesn't make me feel dull but instead it spurs me to work even harder to achieve balance in my life. Sometimes the quiet home (minus my dog) can be a place to harvest great ideas. We tend to plough through the day in the office and come back exhausted and the only place we really call home is our bed (or to others the couch). This has been my life for the past 1 week. However, it was peppered with a yoga session, 2 jog sessions, a girlfriend embracing dinner, a family dinner, a birthday party, massage, some (window) shopping....well, pretty balanced I must say. Glad to say that I am enjoying the solitude of begin alone at home.

Time to get back to prettifying things.

For Ah Fat's viewing pleasure

Hello Jaycee! This picture is taken for you to show how happy Noni is with her presents!

Surprising positivity

This morning after my run, I was greeted with "good morning" by the cleaner at the void deck. He was asking another cleaner to bring him soap and a rag. Then he turned around and say "How to work when they lock up the soap?" and he explained he was trying to clean something because of a complaint and was upset because he felt that he was not provided the resources in a timely manner. Inside my heart, I was like "woah! someone is really passionate about his work"

Then the final sentence came: "We must fulfil our duty to clean because that is our job. It is not the Gar-ment who pay us but the residents"

I was like double woah! Finally my taxes go to someone worthy of receiving it. And it brought a smile to my face on a Monday....

My 3 days Peking Itineary

Things I did in Beijing in case you might want to know. Can also use as itineary in future

1) Peking Duck: My cousin who is staying in Beijing tells me DaDong, Liqun all over-rated and very expensive. He bought me to京尊烤鸭店 at 光华路. Unfortunately he does not have the number. You can check with hotel. We had a HUGE meal and only cost us SG$80 for 4 pax. We had the lamb chops (super), duck (super), fish (also very super), Zha-Jiang Mian, Dumplings, Veg…

2) On the way to Xiu-Shui (Silk Market) from Traders Hotel (we walked…15 mins) there is a noodle shop called () might be the wrong word高牛肉面 – Red signboard. Lamb Skewers + the Noodles is SEDAP. 5 mins walk from Traders. Ask hotel how to walk. They will give very good directions.

3) If you want to go to Great Wall, DO NOT got to BADALING section…its filled with domestic tourist and you will find too many people trying to jostle with you for picture space. I went to MuTianYu section which is a very nice part of the Great Wall..Go early. I left hotel at 8am takes about 1.5 hours to get there. When I left about 1230, there were many tourist buses already. Plan this for a weekday. To book a taxi, the rate according to my cousin should not be more than 250RMB. I paid 500RMB for a car, a little more luxurious.

4) To go up the Great Wall at MuTianYu, there are 2 options. One is the Ski Lift, the other is the Cable Car. I think the Ski Lift is more fun and more challenging hike…Cable Car just bring you up to highest point…so really defeat purpose of visiting the wall. If you take the Ski Lift, you have a choice of take a slide down…they make u sit on a small kart that zooms down a aluminum slide…quite fun I see…but I took the ski lift down lar cos I wanted to enjoy more of the scenary.

5) I went to Summer Palace….honestly I did not like it…because it was supposedly burnt to the ground and rebuilt…restorations are very poor. But if you have a spare day, you can spend it walking through it and ignore the sad way how they painted the beams etc..…they have very nice magnolias trees there. BUT I warn you, it is HUGE! So you need at least half day or ¾ day to fully explore. Warning: Swarming with tourist…even on a Monday.

6) Temple of Heaven (TianTan) – I liked this better. And definitely nicer for picture taking and I think has more significance in Chinese history.

7) Go watch the lowering of the state flag at Tiananmen Sq. This happens at a different time each day as it is supposed to set with the sun. Check with hotel the timings.

8) Shop in the local markets. Silk Market is good…Jia Yi (opposite KunLun Hotel) is good for fashion clothes..but the shops here charge more expensive here. To give you an eg: White top I saw at Jiayi opening price is 900plus…I never bother to bargain. I went to Putian in Fujian and the EXACT same top is going for 89RMB! Imagine the markup…so bargain bargain bargain….DO NOT bother to go HongQiao Market…nonsense…unless you go after you visit Temple of Heaven because just opposite it. But seriously go to Silk…much better

9) We were in Wangfujing and bumped into a shop selling bao…its called狗不狸包子 be prepared to jostle with the MAD china crowd…But this shop has a lot of history. Its located behind Oriental Plaza off a small lane at the front of Wangfujing. You can walk from the Mao Zhi Dong portrait in front of Tiananmen Sq to Wangfujing and gawk at the SUPER LUXE hotels! Takes about 25 mins walk or 1 subway station…recommend walking!

10) At the end of WangFuJing, there is a huge KAPPA store. Turn left, you will see DongMenHua night food market. Well, for a tourist, this is really fun…just walk and see all the weirddddddd looking food…got scorpions, bugs etc and got the usual BingTangHuLu….

11) Okie…here are the things I missed since I only had 3 days: Forbidden City and the Mao Mausoleum where his body is kept which I would have gone to. Must go to Houhai (BackLake) area. This is where the HuTongs (the old Beijing way of living in their houses) is best preserved. My cousin say like Boat Quay…which means I think you can drink there. =). You can do the touristy stuff like hire a rickshaw to bring you around. Bargain again.

"Should we get you a Ring? No, just get me a real big closet" "

Not that I have watched SATC yet, but this was the line that struck me when I was surveying my humble 4 room HDB flat bedroom.

I had a bright idea one day and went to Parkway to get myself a clothes rack.

Firstly the idea of a clothes rack would mean i would be able to view alllllllllllllll my clothes in its hanged state.

Secondly it would mean not having to repeat what i wear every week (you know how u just stack clothes up and only see the top layers?) when i jolly well know I have clothes to last me a month without washing! or maybe 2?

Thirdly I would be earlier for work because i do not need to go fishing in the deep blue sea for that singlet or that shirt

Fourthly hanged clothes will generally require less ironing...whenever i look at lovingly at my shirt, i think about how fabulous I will look with that pants or that skirt....but i ultimately put it away because it will take too much effort to iron!

Next reason would be the ease of matching my clothes. Sometimes i really look drab @ work. Boss would sometime give me the once over...and i wonder what is on his mind....

alright.....all these reasons drove me to buy my wonder rack. Here it is! If you can make out the shape...

Can you tell that I have a wardrobe behind this rack? And I have a separate rack for my bags? Should have taken a picure when it was empty...but desperation to get all my clothes properly sorted got the better of me! Can you also see a pair of pants hanging on my wardrobe? That is my source of motivation! To lose enough weight to fit back into it! Its a bloody 'S' size from Ness...I only wore it once!

See my new (well, hand me down) shoe rack. My mom says its only $10 from NTUC...cheap, stylish and super practical...this is just the shoes @ home...i have another estimated 20 pairs in my car boot...

You must be wondering where I sleep....i sleep at this really tiny corner of my room....anyway my room is really cluttered now. Due the the enormous size of the wonder rack every morning i look fabulous and at the same time work out those muscles pushing it around! So like Carrie, I wish for one of those open wardrobes. You can see it on the SATC trailers...she was actually skipping in it! So imagine the length! I want i want i want....

Long time

I received an unexpected sms at 9pm today. My useless ugly good for nothing (UUGN) ex bf sent me the classic one liner "Hi, hru?"

Sometimes when we start to sms someone else very often, we tend to pick up sms lingos and abbreviations from them. At the lowest point in my relationship with UUGN ex bf, I did sense that the lingos have taken a drastic change and i wondered. One day I realised he was seeing someone else and everything fell into place.

A lesson, do not be foolish and ignorant. Your actions will give you away. Vice versa, look out for actions that are out of comfort zone. Dismissing them may not be the best option out.

Upgraded Blog

I finally upgraded my blog. Was thinking how come I can create my company's blog in such a nice easy manner and i had a little time today to fiddle with it! Now i can add fancy stuff to my site...blog away!

This is 1 mth belated birthday blog to me! Habbie Burfday to me...lalalalalala...well, actually I want to thank those who attended / threw a party for my last 20 something birthday...next year is the big 30 liao...but what the hell? Did anyone not know that 30 is the new 21? Well, some pictures to showcase my 29th Birthday will probably speak more than words

@ Academy Bistro with Fambly
As you can see, the food has taken precedence of attendees.

Present Moment...which will always remain a classic and something we will talk about till we are 80!

FatCat: "Present Time!"

Me: *Grin Grin*

Everyone looking ahead

FatCat: "For you!"

Me: "Wow! Such a beautiful tea set! Yeah! Going to finally be able to drink my Tie Kuan Yin and we can have tea party!"

Closing my box

FatCat: "Hey! Wait the paper carrier not nice. Give you a nicer one to carry it in" (and fishes out a folded longchamp bag. It was her notebook bag)

Me: "Eh, no need no need! This paper bag is good enough!"

FatCat: "Take lar! This one is nicer!"

Me: "No need no need!" (Still refusing profusely)

Bobo: Signature laughter and in between saying "Take lar! Its part of your present"

Me: "Oh! Is it? hahahahahhahaha...how i know? FatCat got so many longchamp, thought she really bring and lend me mah...."

Everyone: Laughter laugher

I LOVE MY PRESENTS!

@ Relish with Jie Meis
In this group, people take precedence over food. Love my presents! A matching key purse with my aubergine wallet and a very meaningful cashcard with our pictures on it! I had a lovely cake from GOBI....it was absolutely heavenly!

IJ forever....and ok lar....one Cedarian...

@ Attica with Tuggers

The only way to describe this hurried affair was a circus. Hum Bao was Ring Mistress, I was puking clown. Hum Bao bought her portable party kit all ready with masks, backdrop, party hats. Everyone wore them. Took pictures and in it went back into the bags. Hahahaha... As for the puking Clown that everyone had to take turns to "eh, i follow her now arh..., second time you arh"....paiseh paiseh

Ring Mistress and her Monkeys, Horses and Sheeps

Da Boyz........guess who is who?

Hum Bao had to run to Vivo Carls Junior to steal this card and made a lovely birthday card for her hamburger! And this was a perfect gift for me! A jewellery organizer!

To everyone here! I had a blast and thank you!

My blue aura

2 weeks ago, i agreed to looloo's suggestion on visiting the angel card reader. Sometime back, humbao has gone to see the lady so has the energizer bunny. Wanted to go the last time but guessed was not ready. The funny thing is on Monday evening while at the nail salon, i was flipping through Female magazine and usually every month they have write ups on some wow wow females. Reading the article, it was a up close and personal with Michelle. A Shiatsu healer. She worked in a place caller Sanctum which also practice angel card readings. Well, did not give it much thought. I received a call in the evening. Audrey called to remind me of my appt the next day. I had no idea about Audrey and she told me she is calling from Sanctum. What a coincidence....Well...maybe its God's way of telling us some things.

As i made my way there, given that i am quite a "logical" person, hearsays do not really interest me, but I guess life brings you to places that sometimes you will not even imagine going...

Audrey is a clairvoyant. She can see angels, fairies and the likes and helps with healing. She also can see dieases through such beings and helps with healing.

After connecting with my angels, she told me that the main aura is blue which means I am a very calm person. I will not falter in times of madness...She also told me another aura is Pink on my left side and said I was full of love and compassion. Well, to give a better understanding and 2 sides to a story, this is what I found on the web:

Blue Positive: The predominantly blue aura represents sound judgement, reliability, and risk free progress. This colour is often found in the aura's of business executives. Negative: May signify an overload of thoughts and plans, executive stress.
Pink Positive: Pink aura's indicate, warm heartedness, love and vocation. Blazes of dark pink often appear in an aura during the early stages of a love affair. Negative: Dusty pink indicates an immature attitude, just fooling around, no genuine love of anything.

I have 2 angels! One is Angel Raziel (of truth) and the other is Angel Jana (of compassion). AR is on my right top and AJ is on my left top
Raziel can help you understand esoteric material, manifestation principles, sacred geometry, quantum physics and other high-level information. He can also open you up to higher levels of psychic abilities and increase your ability to see, hear, know and feel Divine guidance. Like a Divine wizard, Raziel can also assist you with alchemy, clairvoyance, and divine magic. - SO COOL....like harry potter and all....
I found it quite difficult to find information on Angel Jana but then again, she probably is minority angel...but not bad...i have 2! What more can i ask for right?

For my chakra (windows that receive & transmit energy within body) scanning:
  • Throat chakra seems choked. She mentioned to me that I am someone who doesn't express myself well. Sometimes i have difficulty getting people to understand me. Because of this, i tend to just bury my emotions inside.
  • Heart chakra - emotional person
Audrey then went onto ask me if its because of a relationship problem and therefore I am there today. Was thinking if she meant to find out and make any inference. She said she was able to feel that I am troubled...but then again, she might have seen like 1001 females that all happen to be troubled with relationships...contemplating to tell her no....but guessed I caved in. So i said Yes. She said she can feel that the angels are telling her my heart is heavy. We then had a chat about the relationship. But I do not really wish to blog about that here (yes, my throat chakra is choked)

I also asked about my career if it would bring me to different places. She said "not for now....in the next year" But it could have been an inference that I wanted to travel and therefore I asked her the question...actually i was just testing...hahahaha...

Well, maybe just some interesting things she mentioned to me. She said the angels have told her to be more precise. She sees a tall foreign guy. In 8 mths time. I will have 3 children (2 boys 1 girl to be exact). She also see foreign land. Not USA or Europe but Canada and Australia. She sees me driving around. Very busy....like working very hard (shit.....there goes my nuah plan). After all the precision, she started on card readings

Healing:
I have new beginnings (next year), I will need to ask the Arch Angel Michael for protection, I also need to meditate and there is the manifestation of change in my life

Career:
Blessed Change, Healing Heart, Treasure Chest and Alchemy [In short, career is "soon soon" and good. I need to heal my heart (possibly from work politics) and i will find some gains from work and finally the work i do will become gold]

Personality:
Hidden Blessings, I need to indulge more and apply what i learn and use my intuition

Love:
Be honest to myself, I have to be more passionate (?@!@#@?) and look inside myself.

Anyway....this is what happened in that 1 hour session. It was ok but I guess the skeptism in me still quite strong....so just take everything with a pinch of salt. Who knows? I may start travelling the world from 2009?

Second thoughts on Dubai

I finally understood what is First World Hotel (Country, shopping interchangable), Third World Service. When JC first told me about Venetian in Macau....inside myself...I wondered about the level of her tolerance...probably just JC being JC...wahhahahaha...

Well...stepping back into Dubai the second time round...i finally understood how she felt. My first brush was lunch on the first day

Had super big craving for Tabouli / Shwerma (Parsley Salad / Chicken wrapped in Lebanese bread)...so I went to order the items at the food court. I was asked to come back 10 mins later to collect the food.

10 mins later

Big commotion at the Lebanese stall...there is no sense of queue in Middle East..a bit like India/China?

Then i finally got up to the front 10 mins later and asked for my orders. A BLANK look was on the cashier's face..mind you this guy was in shirt and tie and in a food court taking orders. Machiam like part time job in food court during his work hours. He had no answers for me...can u believe it? Just passed my receipt to one of the 15 guys working inside the stall...

I stood there waiting while the chef was informed my salad was missing while the wraps were on the tray. Then the chef asked the person who was slicing the meat. Then the person slicing the meat asked the person who packed the wrap...this went on with all 15 people inside the stall...and i stood there looking at them waiting for "pls hold a moment mam, we are in the midst of preparing another portion"...nooooooooo......they just went on and on until my salad appeared mysteriously from outside the stall....this was lunch

Dinner

This was a super expensive restaurant where oysters (normal ones) went for US$8 per piece...so imagine the standards. I ordered Tuna and Steak. Steak was supposed to be medium and Tuna just seared on the outside. And I checked with server if he knew what seared was. He was yes mam...seared...!" My tuna came out cooked right through. And fillet was rubber like...disappointed

Next day dinner

Restaurant just finished buffet service. We had ala carte. Table was gross...no one cleaned it while we sat for 20 mins. Even after cleaning...still dirty...nevermind...we were already late...had to eat

Walking in the mall

Needed a hot chocolate to wake me up. So i went to one of the 20 coffee joints in Mall of the Emirates.

Me: "skinny hot chocolate pls"

Cashier: "yes mam, skinny hot chocalate!" he helled to the barista "please wait for your drink at the next counter mam"

while waiting. I was looking deliciously at my hot chocolate being lovingly prepared. then i realised the barista (if they qualify) used the same milk for my drink as the previous coffee. When my drink came

Me: "Is this my skinny hot choc?"

Barista: Turning around and looking at the milk "Mam, i used full cream milk"

Me: stunned for 2 secs....with the crow going above my head "I only take skinny pls"

Barista: Look of "shits i did it again or rather I need to do it again" turned around and made me another drink...

Verdict: Drink was horrible.

You see, the reason why I miss singapore is because of its efficiency. I had 4 days of misery there...before each meal i had to be pissed off ever so little...how to enjoy?

I Lurrveeeeee MA LAI KOH
